Road to recovery.

It was a case of taking it easy today and recovering after yesterdays 10 mile race, so I just did a 7 mile run this morning followed by a 1/2 hour of cycling after work and just one hour of weight lifting to finish the easy day off.
Having enjoyed the race that much it will seem a bit dull over the next couple of weeks as I return back to my normal training. One thing that should help though is my new training shoes that just need collecting from the post office. I have tried many running shoes over the years and four months go I thought I would try some Adidas Glide Training Shoes, as soon as I put one of them on and bounced up and down I knew this was the shoe for me and after many miles they have proved to be the best training shoe I have ever had. Seeing as they were that good I then switched my race shoes to Adidas Adios and these have also proven to be perfect so far. I'm not saying Adidas are the best shoes out there but it's a case of finding the shoe that matches your foot and the way you run, then pray that when the new model is released they haven't changed them too much that they no longer feel absolutely perfect or the quest for the ultimate shoe will begin once again. I have known runners in the past who have bought loads of pairs of the same shoe just in case the new models were different and I thought they were bonkers. But now I understand.

Sometimes they just change the shoe colours around and then market it as a different shoe. This is probably to achieve more sales I suppose - Asics seem to be really good at this. I agree It's clever marketing on their part, but some cash conscious runners like me are not fooled and happy to run in the old model to save a few quid.
