Time had come to sneak a long training run in, seeing as i wasn't racing this weekend. All went well and i managed to get round in quite a quick time without to much effort. I must remember to leave my stopwatch at home on these long easy runs to prevent me racing myself.
My visit to Dale sports didn't go to well. I had set my heart on some Saucony Grid Triumps cushioned shoes but they didn't have my size, so i opted for some Asics Nimbus but they didn't have my size either. So i opted for the Mizuno Wave Creation and yet again they didn't have my size. "We've got Nike Vomero in your size." , just what i didn't want to here. To me Nike always take absolutely ages to run in and feel very lumpy under foot but once they've managed to get worn in they don't half last a long time. I tried them on and they felt quite good so i opted to take them. Seeing as i was paying most of the cost in vouchers i didn't have much choice.
Anyway Sunday came and on went the new Nike Vomero's , out of the door and down the road i went , these feel well cushioned i thought and after about two miles my feet started aching, then came the strange lumpy under foot feeling and finaly after 12 miles my feet were aching like hell and it now feel like i've got a broken big toe.
Only another 400 miles and i'll have these buggers broken in. With Asics, Mizuno, and Saucony i've put them on and had them worn in after 2 miles. With Nike i've had 2 pairs of Pegasus's , a pair of Zoom Elite and now Vomero's and all have had the same problem. Will i ever learn not to buy Nike who knows. Is it just me or do others have the same problem with Nike.
Overall this week has gone quite poorly with poor performances at the Gym , Club Time Trial and Dieting but i seemed to have good excuses to cover them all , so all is not lost.
The dog is now back in top form ,now the weather has cooled down. She managed twenty two miles plus sprint training after pheasents and didn't even need one drop of drink. Unlike summer time where she has most of my drink and drinks at streams. It's fantastic to see her sprint away up steep hills on the moors with no effort, especially after summer time where she doesn't even leave my side, as she knows not to waste to much energy. Now we will get some good tempo runs in , if i can keep up with the four legged coach.
