Nidd Valley's midweek fixture last Thursday was just about a full on trail run, I didn't run too well and wasn't really in the right frame of mind for an off road run but in fact it was actually really good to get off the tarmac for a change. So this weekend I was inspired to change my training plans and opted for a 3 hour trail run. I had almost forgot how hard 3 hours running off road can be and those mile climbs up Sutton bank seemed to be much longer than what I remembered.
The long runs give me plenty of time to think and many a time I have solved problems whilst plodding along in the countryside but it also gives me too much time to think what people have said negatively or what I have read, at the time it might not of meant much but by the time I have finished my run the little spark has turned into a raging fire inside me. Now my cage has been rattled once again it just makes hard training so much easier.
