It's the next day after racing at Wetherby and my ankle feels ok so it's all systems go to try and get back to full speed. The weight battle has begun with the aim of shedding half a stone by early November and I've re-started my twice weekly weight training but this time with less weights and more reps so all I need to do now is get back into full training mode and see what speed I can achieve by the time I return to racing which is looking like early to mid Novemeber. The NYSD Cross Country fixture at Hartlepool is looking like a good place to start, I like the course at Summerhill as it has a bit of everything so I will be looking forward to that plus it will give me a chance to try and get some points for North York Moors in the team competition.
You have to ask yourself whether or not if it is worth all the effort and suffering to try and win a race and recently I got into my mind that I would take training it as it comes and have a more laid back attitude and be happy with whatever result but you can stuff that now as I'm ready and willing to suffer once again.
