What ! No race.

It was a case of back to the grind stone this week. I decided to do my 22 mile hilly route but in the opposite direction, i battled into the wind for the first third of the route and then over Kepwick Moor i was beginning to slow down. Eventually with 7 miles to go i was out of fuel and slowing very fast. i ended up with a really slow time but learnt a valuable lesson in the need for energy drinks. I must remember and force myself to down those drinks come marathon race day.
I then had a rest day followed by two days of fast tempo running. With no signs of improvement since the last time i ran these routes i will be glad to get back to racing and not getting myself down comparing test runs.
Just one more weekend of interval training and a long run then it will be race time at Hartlepool. In my opinion you need to race at least once a month just to keep you in good condition fitness wise and mentally.
The dog is still in top form at the moment and finished the long run with plenty to spare. It must be the Chinese year of the dog. The Monkey is looking on enviously.
