No racing for me this weekend so today I managed one and half hours of cross training whilst waiting for my legs to get over the trauma of Wednesday's race. I'm not sure why I'm not going too well at the moment but I am looking forward to a twenty miler tomorrow morning, slow but happy sounds good to me. Age is definitely catching up with me as "slow" was a word that never came into any of my training ideas, along with "easy".
The next important race for me is the Rainton 10k were I need to be in top form if I am hoping to defend my title of Blacksheep Race Series Champion. Then the week after it's another Blacksheep Race with the Burn Valley Half Marathon which is one tough cookie of a route, especially if your not going to well on hilly courses.
Don't expect any rain now for a good few weeks, I have just bought some new waterproof trousers for biking to work and the last time I bought some waterproof gear it took weeks before I got the chance to test it. Funny thing is if I bought a nice new running vest for summer it would rain every day.
