Today's training run of 22 miles on a very hilly course turned out to be hard going for the last 6 miles which I was expecting seeing as I hadn't been doing any long runs of this length for some time. By the time I got home it felt like I had exchanged my legs for wooden stumps. I will soon get used to these long runs though as I have plenty of 20 milers planned throughout the next eight weeks. Finally just as my legs thought they could take it easy for the afternoon I went for a family walk around the Carlton Challenge Fell Route Course.
There was a few races that I normally do being held today which I was a bit gutted to be missing out on but hopefully the training will prove worth while in the near future.
