The healing process of my injured ankle has come to a stand still once again, it's a whole lot better than what it was before I went to see a sports therapist but it's still not right. My average weekly mileage for the past 6 weeks must be in the region of about 8 miles which is around 72 miles too little so I'm going to do the Thirsk 10 mile race this weekend and then consult my sports therapist to see where I go from here. A month or two of steady running with no speed work what so ever might be what is needed, one thing I do know is it's impossible to continue running competitively with a dodgey ankle.
I'm really looking forward to my trip down to London to watch the marathon and I will be at the finishing area to see who wins as well as give a cheer to anyone I recognise in the first few hundred before I head towards the London Eye for my prearranged ride to check on the rest of the runners. At least I will be able to relax and enjoy the experience the day before the race which is very unlike when I'm getting ready to race and spend all day on edge, unable to sit still and have an anxious nights sleep, on the down side I will miss that intense great feeling after completing a marathon.
See you Sunday if you're coming along to the Thirsk 10 and have a good one. You might not recognise me, but I'm the chubby one in the yellow vest behind you.

Good luck Gary....wishing you all the best, It'll come right in the end!
Sorry to hear that you're ankle's not much better. I find that I "enjoy" my runs more when not putting too much effort in, so if you can find the right state of mind, hopefully you will be able to go with the flow and take in what's happening along the journey. Have a good one at Thirsk, John
Thanks for the comments.
Hope Thirsk turns out to be the stepping stone back to racing
Hope the ankle gets better and you get back into it.
I did a bit of a test run this morning and it looks like I will just have to put up with some suffering, you never know I might wake up in the morning with it feeling quite good. " you've been saying that for three months " my wife says.
