It was too good to be true. Just as i get a good couple of weeks training in i end up with another stinking cold. On Wednesday evening i went with the Harriers to Scarborough for a club time trial and fish 'n' chips. On the time trial i thought i was flying but at the end i ended up with quite a slow time but my cold virus will do for an excuse to cover that. Afterwards the fish 'n' chips didn't go to well, as there wasn't any chippies open. There's no way Scarborough is part of Yorkshire, with all the Kebab shops it must of been sneakily invaded by the Turks.
I've entered the Black Sheep Series after giving it a lot of thought, and seeing as i like doing all the races, i might as well suffer and not do so well in some of the races after doing Edinburgh Marathon but it will better than missing out. Also i need to beat S.Brown's record of three wins, one more and i'll have four so count me in.
Hartlepool Marina 5 miler is also a must for me. I really enjoy this blast and i will be gunning for a P.B. of under 25 minutes hopefully, weather permitting. I need to test my new dusty race shoes somewhere.
The dog is in top form at least and she left me for dead today. I was struggling up the climbs and by the finnish i was struggling on the flat, but the dog kept pressing on ahead returning the punishment i inflicted on it the week before. What goes around comes around ! I wasn't expecting it to be so quickly though.
So cough, cough, splutter, splutter i'm training through the damn thing.
