I had my race tactics all prepared and had gone through them again and again. Off goes the start starters gun and straight out the window goes my race plan. I'm sure my brain is
convinced its a 200 mtr sprint and not a 10 miler. They say what you gain in time in the first mile you loose double the amount at the back end of the race. So why the hell i sprint off
time and time again i have no idea. Any way after chasing Ian Fisher of Otley once again i did manage to ease back slightly after the first mile, i was then under the illusion i was starting to close the gap , so i pushed on hard to 6 mile hoping to catch him. By the time i reached the top of the hill at 6 mile he had legged it and left me to suffer. I continued with my effort convincing myself he was bound to give up or retire, but yet again he didn't. Ian claimed the Yorkshire 10 mile Gold and i took home silver. I'm determined to beat Ian some time but at this rate it looks like i'll be chasing him round when were in our seventies.
So its back to the drawing board for me.

If Mr Fisher has a bad day and you have good one - Who knows! The gap is closing, remember the days you had to hang to Richard during training sessions.
