Post Marathon Testing.

Today's training was a speed session over a 10 mile course, running hard for 3 minutes with a fast jog of 2 minutes for recovery in between. I have completed this session many times so I have plenty of data from past training to fully evaluate my performance. By the time I had crossed the finishing line I had taken well over a minute off my best time. I would of been glad just to of got round a minute slower seeing as I am just recovering from the marathon. But to of beaten the time by well over a minute is just the tonic I need before next weeks British Masters 5k Race.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow morning's run around the Whorlton Fell Race route of 7 miles with a loop of the Carlton Challenge Fell Race route of 5 miles added to make it into a worth distance. With it being a bit short in mileage for a good long run I will just have to crank up the speed slightly but not that much I can't enjoy the run.
I went mad with the clippers this morning shearing the dog so hopefully it might be keen to come fell running with it's new summer hair cut, or it might stay in it's bed and hide with embarrassment with the state of it.
