Blistering performance.

I got my long run in over Whorlton and Carlton and after doing a couple of club training sessions in my new trail shoes I opted to wear them in a bit more. But the opposite had happened as they had wore into me instead, a massive deep blister on each foot on the instep is now the latest set back. If those trail shoes had any feelings I would be smashing into them with a sledge hammer by now to get my own back on the damn things.
I will be missing the club session tonight in the hope of trying to dry the injuries out a bit and have a rest from the pain that each step brings. Either way come Sunday they will be racing at full speed in the British Masters 5km Championships whether they like it or not.
Other than the blisters I feel that I should do well in the up and coming race, plus the week after at the Rainton 10k which is the next round in my defence of the Blacksheep Championship and I will be aiming to beat my best time around that route. A few years ago I used to dread the Rainton 10k and make hard work of it but now I seem to go quite well and really look forward to racing there. Those negative thoughts must of moved to the Melmerby 10k which has become hard work as I have under performed there the last two races.
The good old gym session is on the menu for tomorrow night as usual, which does help in keeping me from going insane with the ups and downs of running life.
