In a total of nine days I have amassed a grand total of zero running miles. I went for the full blow out of eating, drinking and doing absolutely nothing and now I am ready to train hard and get back down to race weight. The best part of the blow out is junk food no longer looks appealing and sweet things just seem too sickly which makes the return to race weight all that much easier.
I'm already looking forward to an easy five miler tonight with a run and gym session on the menu for tomorrow. On Saturday I plan to test myself on the treadmill at the gym to see how unfit I have become then on Sunday it will be a two hour plus run around the North Yorkshire Moors.
It doesn't look like I'll make it to the start line of the Teespride 10k on the 6th September which is a shame as I think it's a fantastic race and a really fast course with plenty of support all the way round, I might try and fit it with my training and not bother too much with doing all that well then the week after it's the final race in the Blacksheep Race Series Championship at the Wetherby 10k which I will definitely be there for.

Welcome back.
It will be interesting to see how much fitness you have actually lost over the nine days - and how quickly it returns. I am sure it's a dilema for most runners; whether to train or not to train whilst on holiday. Or forget everything and go for the full blow out.
