There is still no sign of a cold coming on yet but on the 8 mile run home from work I felt great attacking the hills and I probably haven't felt this good since doing the Edinburgh Marathon, I just hope the power doesn't disappear before the race at Kilburn this Sunday and more importantly for the next race in the Blacksheep Race Series which is the Burton Leonard 10k on the 18th July. (Magic socks can have a day off for this race, they will need recharging ready for the James Herriot Trail Race).
The new bike I got through work is going well, it has already notched up it's first victory in a race one morning going to work. I passed a cyclist on a road bike with his cycle gear on and started to put some serious effort in to see if he would respond, and yes he did. After a couple of miles he was still only around 20 metres behind and by 3 1/2 miles which is the half way point he was still right behind me but then I switched to all out big gear mashing time trial mode which did the trick. In no time he was along way off and finally disappeared out of sight, It's the same guy I raced last year so I probably won't see him for another year now I have chased him off my patch.
