Funny Old World.

It's a funny old world ! Seeing as I was taking it easy this week I felt absolutely washed out, luckily by Saturday I was back feeling much better so spent an hour doing some hill training. Then it was a trip to the walking shop in Leyburn to pick up my new trail shoes which I had won the week before, the new shoes will come in handy for my holiday to Austria. On the way there my lad was asking about the cable cars and I told him it's not cable cars you want to worry about it's driving around in these death traps you want to scared of. Then just as we sat there at the traffic lights a car came flying along and smashed into a van which in turn ploughed into the back of us. Told you these car things were dangerous ! Luckily no one was hurt and I did make it in the end to get my new trail shoes.
My legs were a bit stiff after yesterday's hill training so I opted for a nice and easy flat 20 miler around the country lanes, I better not take any more easy weeks if they are going to be like the last week, bring on the hard stuff then I'll feel fresh, funny old world !

You're right, it's a funny old world and not every one is suited to rest. Some runners seem to only relax by working hard, racing or training. I feel sure you will be back to feeling fresh as soon as you start bashing out some hilly 22 milers and racing every week.

Have a good hol.
