I have found a bonus race that you get with the London Marathon and it's the race to book yourself a hotel. The ballot entries find out if they have been accepted in early October which is the day 40,000 plus people suddenly book their hotels, so I'm taking no chances and booking myself something this week especially as some recommended hotels are booked up already. I have Martin Sanders of Leeds City to thank for persuading me to do the London Marathon and hopefully he will be qualifying himself very soon.
My legs were stiff as hell today after four days of building up some strength so my plan was a nice and steady 10 miles but after a few miles I felt quite good so I ended up with 12 miles+ to deposit into the mileage bank. This August weather isn't up to much but it's great for running if I say so myself.
Two weeks left to go now before the Wetherby 10k and I still haven't lost any of my new found added weight, I'm really going to have to make a real try of it this week to loose the weight or I will suffer in two weeks time. I wouldn't like to throw the Blacksheep Championship away in the last race due to being too greedy especially after how hard I have battled so far this year in the series. I reckon I should just get under 33 minutes according to my test runs but loosing a bit of weight could see me running 32 minutes and 35 seconds.

If you want a totally hassle free arrangement you could try Matt Graham Travel. I used these in 2001 and 2002. They do a full package for the London Marathon which totally caters for runners and their spectators or families. These Packages usually include coach pick up, hotel stay, coach trip to the exhibition and start and early breakfast on the Sunday plus re-fuel lunch afterwards.
