Odd socks and Wetherby.

I know I'm no where near my best so why would I set myself the same speed training session that I was doing when I was in top form is a total mystery, even more so when I'm astonished that I didn't manage to complete the training. I had intended to run as far as I can in 8 minutes then have 4 minutes jog recovery with four of these to do, at the end of eight minutes I know how far I need to be. The first repetition wasn't too bad the second was no where near and the third even worse with my calf's cramping up and the last was just run at a steady pace just so I could say to myself that at least I finished the session. Not very good for morale but good for pushing myself well beyond my limits. By my calculations I should just about be able to make it to half way of a 10k race at my usual race speed before seizing up. Can't wait !
My legs were that stiff afterwards I decided to put the compression socks on and slept in the odd looking things as well and lo and behold my legs felt a whole lot better today compared to the day after a hard training session without the compression socks. By the way I'm not sponsored or get commission for skins compression clothing even though I think I should be for giving such credit to their odd looking socks.
The Wetherby 10k a week on Sunday should be fun with the likes of Bilton, Buckley, Burrett, Meade and even Ian Fisher rumoured to be racing. Have these lot nowt better to do on a Sunday afternoon I ask myself, they must of been tipped off that I'm not going too well at the moment can you believe the cheek of them.
