After Wednesdays speed session I picked up a muscle injury around the ankle region, after taking it easy and resting it felt just about normal this morning so I did an easy 20 minute test run to see if it would be possible to race with it tomorrow if need be. The first few minutes were ok but then it became a bit of a nuisance so I kept the pace down so I didn't cause anymore damage. There's no way I could race today but I will be heading off to race tomorrow and just hoping it will be ok. Life at Thirsk Harriers at the moment isn't going too well, after being deducted points from the Kilburn 7 mile race in the club championship for not wearing my club vest which unfortunately has left me no longer able to complete the required races, I then find out in the local newspaper that I am no longer the club captain. Even more strange was only a short time ago when a club mate said we were discussing which team you would join, maybe they knew before me that my time had come to go.
Perhaps a fresh start with a different club in the new year will be for the best all round. Only one way to find out !

good luck tomorrow Gary, hope it all gets better soon. Here at Elswick Harriers in Newcastle we are very friendly and always looking for new talent. Youd be very welcome....maybe a tad far away though. Take care.
