I can feel even more improvements in the ankle today than yesterday and I reckon another week and I will just about be ready to start training, a few weeks of some easy training would be considered a disaster normally but now it would be considered as a big step forward. I totally gave up with trying to get down to race weight and instead over did it on the beer, wine, pies etc so when the time came to start training I could also get stuck into loosing weight with some serious determination.
I checked out the results from the Blackpool Half Marathon and I'm sure I could of won the race or definitely taken second if I had been fit but it would of been a different story at the Snake Lane 10 mile as I would of been eating some serious dust as Ricky Stevenson won the race in 48 minutes. As for some of the other runners in the top 10 it looks as if they have suffered with training through this winter as they seem to be down on what they can normally achieve but I have no doubt in a few weeks time they will be back upto full speed.
Another visit this Tuesday to the Sports Therapist should be another big step forward towards getting back running pain free so I'm looking forward to that. Then it will be time to join the weight watchers lot to see if they can do anything for me as well.
