Long Run

I'm hoping to get out this Sunday for my weekly long run that I have missed doing for some time now due to having this pesky injury. I say long run but at this early stage 5 miles should be more than enough, it's a case of running really easy with the aim of enduring as little pain as possible, if I could do more without risking any damage then I would. My aim for the near future is to build up over the next three weeks so I can manage 10 miles which is what will be required for the re-run of the Thirsk 10 mile.
I suppose I thought I would get up one day and feel injury free and get straight back to full training but now I know otherwise, at least I'm prepared now for it to take as long as it needs without over doing it. Another goal to aim for now will be to see if I can build upto 22 miles in 6 weeks time so I can use the London Marathon as a good training run, just to get round now is being very optimistic with it being so close.
The Yorkshire Dales Race Series will be very interesting this year as yet again it will be a race against time to be fit enough to defend my champions title, but with more time on my hands for this I should have no excuses to make up ground in the latter races. Young Marc Scott from Richmond Zetland Harriers who has beaten me in the last two races we have come across each other will take some beating, but I do like a challenge.

Injuries are a pain and something we can't afford. when i get back into it like i just have, i notice my breathing is off but am too motivated to do Rebel Race obstacle run in June. This is a way to keep me motivated and have fun while getting back into running
