Dirty Machine.

I have found myself locked in a circle of trying to get back to full training and then having something to ruin that plan. I really need to free myself from this vicious circle  but low and behold I think I have another cold starting. In attempt to break free I am planning on having an attack at my 5.25km treadmill test and doing it at 20kmh that is until the sprint finish. Fourteen minutes is my best so far at 20kmh so I only need to extend it by just under two minutes. I'm looking forward to the challenge come Saturday morning and in all honesty  I will be happy just to crack the fourteen minute barrier.
The treadmill cheated me the other day believe it or not. I selected the random uphill program, selected my pace and level and imputed fifty minutes. The last time I did the exact same training session I cracked and failed at thirty four minutes. This time I was prepared to suffer to the max in my quest for glory. In no time the machine gave me a triple maximum incline to contend with or in time one and half minutes. Errm best to get the hard stuff sorted out early I thought as I struggled, then in next to no time it gave me another triple maximum incline to contend with, I dug deep and showed it who was boss but the dam machine then kept hitting me with single maximum inclines with hardly any easy stuff, well that's how it felt anyway. Thirty minutes completed and my theory was it has given me its best and now it will be plain sailing. Never, not another triple maximum incline the cheating dirty low life of a machine and not long after that I cracked at thirty six minutes. Another glorious failure bagged. After a brief two minute recovery I resumed the training session and as soon as the machine hit me with yet another maximum incline my legs had nothing left in them so I had to call it a day and finished the session off at jogging speed. On a positive note my legs certainly knew they had been smashed to bits, no pain no gain.
I have not bothered with dieting for a good four weeks now with one thing after another going wrong but luckily I haven't put any weight on which feels like a bonus. I'm just a few pounds down now off my long term plan, I was a couple of pounds ahead of schedule so things don't look too bad on paper. I will get back on it now with loosing a few pounds before Leeds Abbey Dash 10k , that is after these few cans of Lager that need consuming.
I will be guzzling a large glass of beetroot juice first thing in the morning to give my muscles that extra bit of stamina, if Mr Beetroot says it helps then that will do for me, bring on the Nitric Oxide. Let's see if it is the body's equivalent of an engine on Nitrous Oxide.
