5k attack game.

My weekly mileage is looking good this week as I am looking at completing seventy four miles with only one run left to do tomorrow morning. I also got off to a good start with my 5k treadmill time trial by doing it in eighteen minutes and twenty four seconds, which was six seconds quicker than my guesstimation.
I will settle for sixty miles next week and throw in a speed training session as I'm hungry now to start moving forward and attacking my 5k times. I'm determined to match my 5k time of fifteen minutes fifty two seconds from 2014 which earned me a national bronze medal in the veterans championships before the end of the year.
I still haven't entered any races yet but I think the Hartlepool Marina 5 miler  is looking good as is the Ripon 10m, I could do with finding a couple of races before them though. A few other races later on in the year that I have enjoyed in the past like the Harrogate 10k, James Herriot Trail Race, Carlton Challenge fell race, Burton Leonard 10k and the Wetherby 10k will more than likely be seeing me. Ohh and not forgetting an Harrogate evening league race or two.
I haven't done much core training for a long time now so I'm thinking of venturing down to my local running club Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers on a Wednesday evening sometime in the near future.
