Like a lot of people my running through the week is carried out in the cover of darkness, it's not by choice it's a case of being at work in the daylight hours. Thankfully the daylight hours are getting longer and I can squeeze in a good twenty minutes now in the evening before darkness consumes my scenic views as I run along. Just setting off from work in the light of day doesn't half make it much easier to get motivated and add a bit of sunshine to that and then we are talking my kind of training.
I have certainly ramped up my game this week mileage wise and I should be looking at completing just over seventy miles, that's if my niggling ankle and plantar fasciitis don't get any worse. I thought it would of taken quite some time to slowly build up my weekly mileage but it appears my running muscles have adapted without too much trouble it is just a shame they haven't remembered how to run as quick as before so easily.
I think I will try a 5k test run this Saturday morning on the treadmill to gauge my fitness level and then adapt a speed training session to make sure I start progressing week after week. At a guess I would say in the region of 18 minutes 30 seconds. Looking forward already to see what I can actually achieve.
