The End.

In racing terms i am now Burnt-Out. After trying to race on Boxing Day i came to the conclusion i had better call it a day for a few months. Just the thought of a race makes me want to roll over and go to sleep.
Plenty of easy jogs for the first month and then build up from there. At least i should be able to get back to enjoying my training. At the end of the day that what its all about. Winning is nice but you pay dearly for it.
So if your out jogging and you over take a little chubby fellow with a dog give me a wave.
Other than that i have had a good Christmas. Still no sign of the Saucony Trainers i sent back under warranty.(Return goods by Recorded Mail) I always learn the hard way. So i now have a pair of Mizuno's my preferred weapons of choice. Oh and a pair of Mizuno race shoes to go with them.
After 5 years of training without a heart rate monitor i have now purchased one to help me from over training. When i was cycling i never went anywhere without the heart rate monitor and during a time trial for upto four hours i would check it every few seconds to make sure i wasn't starting to take it easy. It will certainly help in tracking my fitness and making sure i am progressing.
The dogs resting heart rate is 56 bpm. So i will be checking to see if it gets fitter over the next few months as well. It took me ages to find its heart to connect it up to the monitor , so there's chunks of fur missing from all over its body. A sleep monitor would be more appropiate for the lazy mut , even trying to take its heart rate its falling asleep.
All the Best for the New Year.
