2 long going into 3 fall.

This week went well as far as training was concerned with two long runs fitted in this weekend. One on the road and on one off road. I felt a big urge in the need to go racing but resisted the temptation knowing in the long run i will be better off sticking to the training plan.
I watched the Edinburgh Cross Country on TV and was quite shocked when Ricky stevinson from New Marske Harriers suddenly appeared on screen in fourth place. A fantastic run but unfortunately slipped back to about twelth , but i liked the attacking spirit unlike our usual boring lot who just go for the same pace through out the race with no hope.
I managed to fall over three times this week; 1-Slipped on ice. 2-Dog cut in front of me after being scared by another dog. 3-Running without due care and attention (To busy looking round) and fell over a boulder. It's true they come in three's. Luckily no harm done.
The dog is enjoying all the easy long runs especially the off roaders.
I just need to be careful i don't turn into a long slow runner. Roll on February and let the intervals begin. Strength to Power to Speed to P.B's .
I managed to beat some of my lifting PB's down at the gym. On the overhead lift on the weight machine i managed to lift the lot (3 lots of 8 reps). Not much use for an endurance runner but should help on the start line of some of the cross country races. At some of those races it's like being back at an old school disco with a madness number on with everyone banging into each other.
