The Full Monty (Mechie Way)

I was all fired up ready to go all out in the mid-week time trial of 2.2miles but unfortunately i just couldn't give 100% due to the cold (virus type) holding me back. So a time of 10mins 42 seconds wasn't so bad in the end, as i felt i could of gone under 10.30. With plenty of weight still to loose and interval training due to start i should soon be able to break my PB or get close to it.
On Saturday i travelled up to Stewie Mechies for The Full Monty Run which is an excellent run of approximately 20 miles of trail and fell, surely there can't be a better long run than this beauty. There's absolutely everything to run on and see, no wonder he's named it the Full monty. We set off with an additional two Harriers in deep snow and ice, and by the finnish in just over three hours for myself and Stewie it seemed a reasonable time considering the conditions. And not for behind was Mark Ludiman pressing on alone but determined to complete the full route, there was no way he was taking any shortcuts or shorter versions of the Full Monty route. Walter meanwhile was just tagging along for a hour before taking a different route home. With the long run in the bag for this weekend i might have to do some of the long awaited decorating, but with the views from my run freshly in my mind the job will seem less painful.
The dog missed out but i will take her out for a hour tomorrow hopefully around some woods somewhere, after spending hours cleaning the car last weekend after we both left mud everywhere i thought i'd better not bother this time. As i drove away it was in the window watching me go and it didn't look to happy, it just couldn't believe it wasn't going.
Hopefully i should be ready for some interval training next week.
