6-7-6 long run munchie head.

I completed my last hard training run today, a 6mile fast jog followed by a 7 mile tempo run around the Kilburn 7 race route and finally the 6 mile back home. I was running at a comfortable pace and passed my first check point in equal time to what i have done in the past at a hard pace, so even after 10 minutes everything was looking good. I managed to get round the Kilburn 7 mile race route in 42 minutes 20 seconds at a good tempo training pace, a good 2 minutes quicker than i have managed before in training.
The problem i find with these long runs is the long run munchie head that you get after the long run and lasts for the rest of the day. So i might of burnt up a few thousand calories but then i refuel with double the calories, so loosing weight by doing long runs doesn't seem so straight forward after all.
There's not much left for me to do now training wise with my Marathon debut being next Sunday. I'm sticking with plan C at the moment which is to run the marathon with no set mile pace and just race like it any other race.
The dog has had it's day and now i'm in the driving seat. At the end of the 19 miler the dog was a good twenty metres behind and it had half my drink as well. That will teach it for missing training runs over the last six weeks.
I'm hoping to be recovered in time for the Kirkby Malzeard 10k on the 7th June, surely it can't take more than two weeks to recover after a marathon. One thing is for sure is that i will soon find out.
