Run down

I have struggled all week with motivation and feeling tired all the time, so a long run on the Saturday morning wasn't looking very inviting. But fortunately as soon as i got going i enjoyed the hilly 22 miler around Boltby and Kepwick Moor. I'm glad i urged myself to get out there and get running as i feel a lot better now than i did before.
Weekends are not the same without having a race to attend and come July i will end up moaning that i am worn out with too much racing with all the races i have got planned. There didn't seem to be many races on this weekend around this area for some reason. I was reading somewhere about a night time 10k race, i thought that would be good for a change.
The dog wasn't coming out running Friday evening but Saturday it was all up for the long trek and it went really well for the first twenty miles then the last two miles it struggled. It's not done a long run for some time now so i'll let it off this time and allow it to recover in peace, it's much more fun when it is totally knackered and you pretend to have something to eat, then when it drags it self out of it's bed and over to where you are its sad eyes make me laugh when it realises it has been tricked.
I'm looking forward to getting back to racing at the Rainton 10k next weekend, another round in the Blacksheep race series. Then less than a week later it's the Burn Valley Half Marathon which is the 2nd of the long runs in the series, as i have already done the Ripon 10 miler i can opt out of this one. But i really enjoy this run, i won't be flogging myself for a win, i will be happy with as high as placing as possible without any suffering. I need to be in good shape for after the race, to take full advantage of the food on offer. Another case of long run munchie head i think. 2000 calories burned/refueled with 5000 calories.

Isn't it funny when your dog 'hits the wall'! What's wierd is that we tend to do it simultaneously (except in hot weather when I cut the miles down for his benefit).

I've put a link to your blog from mine. If you could kindly return the compliment I would be grateful.

Enjoy the Burn Valley. I wish I was able to join you for that one.
