Club Training.

The harriers club training session last night turned out to be 16 repetitions of running 375 metres or there abouts with 1 minute rest, with the aim of running them all in the same time. Seeing as I blasted round the first two reps I found the last fourteen reps really hard. I didn't really want to be trying this hard so early on in my training but I enjoyed the session and will miss the next two weeks of club training due to being on holiday, so easy sessions will resume.
I missed running this morning to help with the recovery but I still visited the gym for my weekly weight training session. I could do with another sport or form of exercise once a week to help keep the mind keen and fresh but I think I will have to wait another twenty five years or so until I retire before I find the time.
The NYSD cross country fixtures look good to me and I will be attempting to do them all this year. I struggled with just about most of the races last year as I lost form, even though I didn't run as well as the year before I found the close fought racing really enjoyable as I was pushed well beyond my limits. The first race this year as last is at Croft Autodrome near Darlington, the organisers must of been afraid of it being too flat and not hard enough so they made you run up and down the short steep banking's a number of times each lap which to be honest absolutely knackered me out. This time I will be prepared and set off more steadily.
