I completed 10 days of no training and a full week of retoxing and refueling and today was time to knuckle down and restart my training. I opted for a steady two hour trail run nothing too hard as I just wanted to enjoy my first run but unfortunately the lack of fitness caught up with me and the last hour was more of a hobble as my muscles and joints slowly gave up on me. The run was extended an extra twenty minutes due to the new found slow speed but at least the weather was just about perfect for running.
Austria would of made a great training camp with mountains galore to run up and down but if your to knackered by half way or at the top you can always jump in a cable car to complete your journey, what more could anyone ask for. I didn't think the mountains looked that big but a good three hours of walking downhill on some of the mountains gets you around half way down if your lucky.
I now have three weeks to try and get back into some sort of shape ready for my last race in the Blacksheep Championship which is the Wetherby 10k, a good flat course so my target will be to try and get under 33 minutes. The cross country season will be starting not long after that and hopefully I should be just about getting back to full fitness by then so I have plenty of hard training ahead.
