Job 1 - Test the ankle out on the cycle machine.
Job 2 - Test the ankle see if it possible to jog slowly.
Job 1 - I was able to cycle without any problems and completed a 20 minute session including some time at full power.
Job 2 - I didn't think jogging would be possible today but I managed a steady trot with next to no pain at all, after cranking the speed up I felt some pain so backed off and made do with 20 minutes of easy/steady jogging.
And finally to complete the hour I did some upper body weight lifting which I now feel I am getting back to where I left off back in April. I will forget all about today's missed speed session as trying to squeeze one in this week won't do the ankle much good. I have just received my race number for the Jolly Holly Jog 10k at Ripon, yesterday I was thinking I might not make it to the start line seeing as it's only a couple of weeks away but now I'm quite sure I'll be there. If any one asks I tell them I'm doing a 10k race at Ripon I don't mention the 'Jolly Holly Jog' bit as it sounds a bit soft to say the least, now if it was the Christmas Ball Cruncher or the Santa Slayer Special or even the Deer Hunter 10k then that would be worth telling my mates about.
