I woke up this morning and I had obviously underestimated my injury as my ankle was stiff as chuff and still aching. Someone at work inquired if I had put ice on it, ICE, bloody ice, I had no electric and was freezing my ass off, I sure as hell wasn't going routing around in a freezer for some frozen peas to snuggle up to. I needed heat and lots of it, where's that god dam global warming when you need it. It was11.oopm when the electric eventually came back on.
I tried a very short jog before leaving work to test the ankle and their was no chance what so ever that I would be able to do any running this evening so off to the gym to do some extra weight training it was, tomorrow is looking like a no go in the running department as well so I think I will try a bit of cross training on the bike and stepping machine if the ankle can take it. I'm guessing it's going to be Thursday at the earliest before I will be able to get back to a slow jog and Saturday for full power, you can't beat a bit of positive thinking.
With more bad weather forecasted it's looking like this winter could be my worst ever in the mileage department but I have not spent any less time training either by running on the treadmill or cross training so it will be good to see how my early season results go next year, Dewsbury 10k in early February should be a good indicator.
