The danger zone is fast approaching, yet again I have had a week of next to no running due to the very slow healing ankle problem. I was hoping to be back in full training after four weeks of doing my ankle in which will be this coming Monday but it looks like I will had better get used to the idea of it taking 6 weeks. If my start to full training is any later than 25th January then it will be a case of damage limitation rather than aiming for a sub 2 hour 26 minute marathon time. No need to panic just yet as I'm sure the ankle is improving daily it might be slow but two weeks is a long time in the healing world. I still need to book the train tickets for London, I have already booked and paid for my hotel so I will be going no matter what even if I have to change my entry to the wheelchair race.
I actually bought the Athletics Weekly magazine this week and my work mate asked if I was ever in it. Having just read the section about the Sheffield Half Marathon and how well it is doing I remembered seeing a picture of the start, I found the picture and low and behold there I am right at the front, a bit small but owts better than nowt. Yeah ! I'm in it every week. (only joking)

Short slow run is on the menu for me tomorrow I would of preferred the long steady run but anything over 6 miles doesn't do my ankle any good. My weight training and cycling are helping me tick over at the moment and I have even managed to loose 2 lb this week which just leaves another 8 lb to get rid of.
The new Adidas race shoe colour scheme is going to get some getting used to. For some strange reason I feel quicker with white race shoes on than that of any other colour, but green just seems so weird.

Ask the waiter to take back that menu and give you the one which has 'Long steady one' on it.
You are a paying customer with green trainer's after all mate. Ian F.
Be patient and i'm soon your ankle will be fully repaired in time for training. Good luck.
