Thirsk 10 mile - 27th March 2011

I'm sure to find The Thirsk 10 mile race hard work next Sunday 27th March 2011 as at the moment my legs are only capable of running for 50 minutes at a hardish pace before they start to seize up which if I'm aiming to run under the hour for the 10 miles will leave me 10 minutes short. Some race day adrenalin might make up the shortfall and the joy of racing might take my mind off being knackered for part of the time as well. I have my 5 mile point lift organised if I feel I have over done it with the ankle. I looked up the results from last year or should I say 2009 seeing as the race was cancelled in 2010 and going sub 60 minutes should earn me a top 75 place, it just goes to show the amount of quality runners that enter the Thirsk 10 these days. It must be the best 10 mile race in the North of England by now in terms of the fast course, chip timing , organisation , parking and facilities. Which is probably why so many athletic organisations are now wanting to include their Championship races within the race.
I should of been doing my long run tomorrow of around 15 miles but now I'm restricting my long runs to 10 miles a 10 miler it is for tomorrow, all I need now is a scenic 10 mile route to keep things interesting.
