Live report from London. I watched the elite runners and the lead runner absolutely flew by looking really fresh, Lel in second place was looking slightly worn and Lemoncello was suffering with a bad stitch with the look of him. I gave Darran Bilton Leeds City a cheer as he went past some what slower than he is capable of but still good enough to take gold in the v45 category. Must say even though he wasn't at his best his split times are very good yet again,very impressed to say the least. New club mate Jim Bulman nym.ac was looking like he had done too much earlier on in the race as with 1km to go he was suffering like hell and loosing alot of time, I know exactly how he must of felt. Good on him though as when I spoke to him before the race he had set himself a hard task and obviously had given it everything, a race tactic I often use. Maybe we both should try Bilton's race tactics in future. Mike Appleton Ripon Runners was the next one I recognized and he looked to be going well still over taking plenty of runners in front of Him to finish in 2 hrs 40 or there abouts. Alasdair Tatham also nym.ac was using London as a tough training run went by and then not for behind Phil Teece Billingham Marsh House was on the verge and pushing for a 2hr 50min finish to get a high placing in the v50 category. I stayed to cheer on another few thousand before venturing off to the London Eye and some lunch. Refueled off we went to watch another ten thousand or so runners struggle on by after running for more than 5hrs it's no wonder they were finding it tough probably more so than the faster runners. I've really enjoyed my time in London and I'm already looking forward to next years race.
