Inching along.

I would never of guessed that getting anywhere near back to full fitness could take so long or be so hard but that is exactly how it is. As the weeks pass by I'm slowly inching my way up the fitness scale but at this rate I will be worn out before I even make it to a race.
Five weeks ago I just about managed 10 minutes at level 8 on the treadmill hill training session and today I knocked out a full hour, I know I should be happy with that but when I look through my past training sessions I'm still a very large chunk off my best performances. Maybe the NYSD cross country race at Hartlepool in a couple of weeks time will help speed things up, I'm certainly looking forward to racing again that's for sure.
I'm teaming up with Phil Utley for tomorrows long run which is always an added bonus to have some company. After flogging myself to bits today for an hour I can see myself taking a bit of a hammering tomorrow even though it's supposed to be a steady run but I'm sure I will enjoy it non the less.
Tuesday morning I'm planning on doing a 1 1/2 mile time trial on my way to work which should give me some  excellent data to work with in preparation for the up and coming cross country race, I will be setting my sights high and I won't be happy unless the first number starts with a seven after that even 59 will do.
