Friday
Rewind back to just over a month ago and I was busy trying to get my treadmill 5.25km ( my equivalent to a road 5k ) test run time down with vengeance to well below 16 minutes. I managed to scrape under 16 minutes but during that period I also tried a few times to complete the distance at a set speed but couldn't manage it. My best effort at said speed was 12 minutes which might of been a failure at the time but now it has become something to target and conquer. I will work an attempt into a speed session tomorrow, 15 plus minutes of hell, 4 minutes jog with three rounds to complete. Obviously the second rounds won't be as run at the same pace as the first.
Saturday
Dunnstopable, 5.25km test run completed at said speed, that was a whole lot of work to increase my speed by 0.2 kmh. Just one problem with completing that and that is I am now a long way off completing the next 0.2 kmh increase in speed. Every seconds counts in this game and I will gladly take every second I can.
All most time to go and find my spot to watch the Tour de France, I have got to go with a win for Cavendish today. A full team dedicated and working for him, no room for scrawny mountain climbers in the Omega Pharma Quickstep powerhouse team. Griepel, Kittel, they will be lucky to even beat Renshaw who is Cav's lead out man. Either way it's going to be nail biting stuff if it does end up as a sprint finish.
Saturday Evening
My Tour de France prediction for stage one went ????????????
Terribly wrong, Cav found himself boxed in with 300 metres to go. He tried to head butt his way out but crashed. Kittel took advantage to take the win. After rewatching the finish I would say Cav would of won it as Kittel was way behind him. Anyway it was an exciting finish unlike the blink and you will miss it fly past I witnessed.
