Two races in two days.

The weather was just about perfect for the popular Kirkbymoorside 10k. With an entry list of 500 and many athletes trying to gain entry on the day. My plan for the race was to get round as comfortably as possible and hopefully get in the top three, seeing as i was trying to save myself for a race the following day. I tucked in nicely for just under a mile and then i decided it was to easy of a pace and below the effort i would need to do a full Marathon. So i attacked on the final part of the mile climb and went into marathon pace mode (maybe a little over) and the next mile went by in around 5 mins 30 .The next mile i decided to time more accurately and this mile wizzed by in 4 mins 40 secs. ( ?? Surely i can't of gone that fast. It must of been a short mile.) Even so it boosted my morale and i continued with my good fast marathon race pace but going harder on the uphill sections. Going through the 6 mile marker i was really fresh so i went for a full on 300 metre sprint to the finish, to come home in 32 mins 53 seconds. The second runner being well over three minutes behind.
Only problem now, with getting carried away i will be a bit stiff for tomorrows race. A good excuse if i ever heard one.
