Healthy Rainton 10k

Today I was well beaten at the Rainton 10k and finished second in a time of 32 minutes 57 seconds which is 45 seconds slower than my past efforts around this circuit. All the foot problems I have had over the past weeks had totally vanished and to be able to run pain free was an absolute delight. Yet again I found the route quite hard in the last three miles but I did enjoy the race and will be back for more next year without a doubt. Bilton from Leeds City won the race in a new course record so I will have even more reason to get stuck into some good training this winter. I was secretly hoping to of not of lost too much fitness but now at least I know what sort of form I'm in, really I should get back to some good training and stay away from racing for a while but with so many important races to fit in over the next four weeks I will just have to get on with it.
I am already looking forward to next week as I can get back to running daily now the foot problems are behind me and for starters I plan to run the 7 miles to work and the 8 mile extended route on the way home, if everything goes well I might even try extending the 8 miler to the 10 mile route which I will be introducing this winter to try and get more miles in.
Burn Valley half marathon next week will be tough and with Ian Fisher of Otley AC running I will be trying to run more even paced and run my own race as I don't think I will be much of a threat to him with the form I'm in. Then it's Burton Leonard 10k, Kilburn Feast 7 mile and finally to end my season is one of my favourite races the James Herriot Trail Race.
