7/11

Monday I tried out my new run to work and back as I planned. The seven mile in the morning was a breeze but the extended route back home of eleven miles in blistering heat took some doing, maybe it was due to the after effects of the race on Sunday. So I did the same again today and can confirm that it's bloody tough running eleven miles in that heat after work. With Thirsty Six miles, I mean Thirty six miles run already this week in two days, I'm looking good to hitting seventy miles by the end of the week which is a good thirty miles more than I have been doing most of the year.
I have the Club interval session tomorrow, the Gym Thursday to look forward to and an easy day Friday in preparation for the Burn Valley Half Marathon which I've got some serious worries about. Struggling with the distance being the main concern and the heat. With the severe suffering I inflicted on myself fresh in my mind from the Edinburgh Marathon the thought of another day like that doesn't seem much fun.
A trip to York on Saturday for some new training shoes should help take my mind off things for a while, I have opted to go for Asics and I am not being tempted by anything else which I have a tendency to do once I listen to the shop assistant. Many a time I have spent hours reviewing and selecting the shoes for me and then when I've gone to the shop I have come out with something completely different. But not this time mister !
