No Turning Back Now.

The bags are packed and I still haven't run since Tuesday. I can hardly walk never mind run but tomorrow morning before I set off for a weekend away in Lancashire I will try an easy 4 mile run to see if I will be able to race on the Sunday. Nothing like a bit of pre race pressure of not knowing if you will be fit to run or not. If it was any other race I would more than likely give it a miss but seeing as it's the National British Masters 5km Championships I feel I need to win this race or at least get a medal in the hope of getting selected at some point for the Masters International Cross Country in November, surely a good result here will help the cause.
Race tactics for this 3 lap race are :
Plan A = Sit in for a lap and then attack.
Plan B = Sit in for 2 laps and attack on the final lap.
Plan C = Stay with leaders for full distance and go for sprint finish.
Plan D = All out attack from the gun. Hard 1st Lap, stick in 2nd lap and all hell on last lap.

Plan D looks to be the favourable option at the moment but I will switch tactics within seconds if I don't manage to get a good gap quickly.
All battle tactics and plans will be ready to use in the pursuit of victory.
