The 5 mile test run.

After not doing a long constant hard effort for five weeks the 4.7 mile test run today was a real lung buster. It didn't look that warm outside but once I got running it certainly felt like it. I completed the test in 26 minutes and 20 seconds. Which is not to bad I think. So come the Wetherby 10k in two weeks time, I should be slightly fitter and a bit lighter so I reckon I should be able to run the 10k in 32 minutes 46 seconds if the weather is good for running.
I hope to have another go next year in trying to win the gold medal at the British Masters Cross Country Championships in Belfast on the 13th March. I reckon the cheapest option is driving to stranraer, getting the ferry as a foot passenger to Belfast then hiring a car. With two nights accommodation for the family and expenses who on earth said running was cheap.

Sounds from your time trial like your gonna be on blistering form Gary - good luck with the race.

It seems to me the Vets have all the fun with this jetset lifestyle.
