My mind was set and off I went this morning for an icy run to work, the dreaded thoughts of it being slippy as hell or having to cope with uneven compacted ice which is just as bad to run on never materialised. The going under foot was actually really good then after a mile my nose really started to hurt another mile later and my face and hands felt even colder than usual for some reason. By half way the hundreds of birds that fly past were on time but this time were in three waves for some reason, my eye lids and eye brows were freezing up and onwards I went with the thought of the run being far from enjoyable. Arriving at work I was informed by fellow work mates that it was -12 degrees to -14 degrees which explained why I had not experienced anything that cold running before.
Unfortunately I will have to switch tomorrows morning run for a run home from work so I will soon see how bad or good that is. My dad informs that there isn't any snow at all in Leyland Lanacshire which will give them a slight advantage in any early season races, that's my excuse anyway if any of them beat me.
