Yesterday I completed one hour at a good hardish effort which left me legs stiff as hell afterwards which is not surprising after doing next to nowt for so long. I woke up this morning and the legs were just as stiff as yesterday but that didn't deter me from my task of knocking out a twenty mile training run. I managed to get round in 2 hrs 10 minutes which is about 12 minutes slower than when I'm in peak condition, on a positive note I did manage to up the pace slightly over the last five miles which is a big improvement on making do with crawling home for the last 5 miles.
Next weekend I'm down to race the Dewsbury 10k but now I'm starting to think that a 26 miler might be the better option for getting in shape for the London marathon, at the moment I'm sticking with plan A but plan B is doing it's best to change my plans. It would be good to know exactly what fitness level I am actually at so Plan A it is. The question now is what time do I reckon I can do for the 10k, sub 36 minutes would be a good starting point with a Sub 35 being a good performance for me at this early stage of my comeback. 34 minutes 30 would be good as a win. We will soon see !
