Preparing for the Olympics.

After clocking up forty miles last Friday Trekking I thought I would try and run forty miles this week, I have missed a couple of my planned sessions this week but to get to complete my goal all I need to do is bank thirteen miles tomorrow morning. Unfortunately I won't be able to do thirteen miles as my route is either 15 miles if the roads aren't to icy or ten miles if the weather is not looking too good.
It was a bit of a slow start to the week as I was recovering from last Friday's long distance walk so I have missed all my weight training sessions which isn't too bad as the forced rest will make the next session something to look forward to. Today I opted for an hour of hill training on the treadmill which also doubles up as a good indicator to what fitness level I'm presently at , I would say I'm obviously some way off my best but I'm am pleased with my current state of fitness and I have also managed to shed six pounds in weight since the start of 2012, loosing weight was one of my main new year resolutions so I'm more than happy on that front. I just need to loose another stone now and then I would be back to 2008 racing snake shape.
Athletics is on TV this afternoon which I'm sure I will catch a good chunk of as I build up and prepare for viewing the 2012 Olympics.

Unlike you, the cheerless cold wintry weather prompted me to pile on a bit of weight - and take a daily dose of Vitamin D3! It may be coincidental but, so far, I feel stronger and better for it. Come Spring, I'll hopefully get back to my racing weight again.
