I pushed myself to the extreme limits this morning doing my interval training which was 5 minutes hard by four minutes recovery with four of these to complete the session. It's a long time five minutes when you are running faster than your 5k pace but if I'm going to crack 17 minutes for 5k on the treadmill then I will just have to learn how to suffer like the good old days.
Hopefully I will back in action next Saturday with a park run 5k race, I'm not fussed what posistion I finish in as I'm more interested in getting my fastest time possible. Sub 18 minutes would be great but seeing as I haven't done any training outdoors for the last few months it's hard to tell what's going to happen.
If all goes well I think I will have to get myself some new racing footwear for Christmas, looking at what's on offer there seems to be plenty to choose from. Adidas Adios an old favourite that I have tried and tested many times look favourite folowed closely by every other brand beside Nike. I have nothing against Nike and I like the look of their gear but they don't like my feet for some strange reason.
