I was hoping to get a few midweek runs completed by running to work on Friday mornings and running home from work on Mondays but the weather has let me down. If it's not snowing it's icy and if it's not icy it's sleeting it down but hopefully we have seen the worst of the weather and I can get started on this years campaign.
I did a 5k test run last week on the treadmill in 17 minutes 44 seconds, 30 seconds slower than what I did in November but quicker than what I could of done a few weeks ago that's for sure. I still need to do one of them 5k Park runs I keep saying I will do so I'm planning on doing one of them in the next few weeks. Besides I could do with a bit of a race before I start my first race at the Fountains 10k at the end of April which is the first race of the Yorkshire Dales Race Series.
The cross training is going well thanks to the weather and I have even been knocking out thirty lengths in the pool after a good hour of training in the gym on a Sunday. Even though I'm enjoying all the different training I'm really looking forward to getting to a running race again.
