Melt Down.

After last weeks fifteen miler I thought I would be wise and stick with the same mileage for now but make the route a little bit harder, well I thought a little bit harder before I set off on my run yesterday but by the time I finished it was one hell of a lot harder. The hills were definitely testing to say the least in the first eight miles and combined with the heat I was sure I was going to end up with heat exhaustion as I was out of drink by the time I turned to make my way back. Luckily the route on the way back is much easier besides the long climb at the start, I ground to a walking pace half way up as my lungs, heart, legs and cooling system failed with the task in hand. Once over the top I managed to switch in to auto pilot mode and jogged steadily back to the finish, only 28 minutes off my best time round this course but that was three years ago now, but on the positive side I should be able to beat my time from Saturday in the near future.
