Basic Fitness Test - 1.5 miles
You have heard the saying "my eyes bigger than my belly", well "my head is faster than my legs".
I had high hopes of completing the 1.5 miles in 7 minutes 40 seconds that was my initial thought on Sunday. Anyway I did a few calculations today and worked out that I would be lucky to get under 8 minutes never mind get anywhere near my initial thought of 7 minutes 40.
I was a bit too cautious with my pacing and I could of gone faster far longer in my sprint finish but I did manage to crack the 8 minute barrier with a time of 7 minutes 58 seconds. I reckon I could shave off another 8 seconds off my time but there is absolutely no chance at all at the moment of 7 minutes 40.
I think I will set my long term goal at 7 minutes 20 seconds for now as I don't think I will be able to match any of my sub 7 minutes performances, too heavy and may be too old me thinks.
